Anna LoPresti
PhD Student - University of Colorado Boulder
I am a doctoral student in the Dee Lab in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Colorado, Boulder.
I am interested in the impacts of climate change on the resilience and functioning of social-ecological systems. My research interests include: characterizing the impacts of climate change on cultural and biophysical ecosystem services, and evaluating the effectiveness of climate adaptation strategies for multiple management goals. My current work focuses on the impacts of wildfire on communities and ecosystems across the western US, and the use of prescribed fire to mitigate wildfire risk and achieve conservation goals. I aim to combine methods from the social sciences, GIS, and remote sensing to understand how we can better adapt to climate change with ecosystem-based approaches.
